Implementing a Large-scale TIFF Review Solution

Our client, a national AMLAW 100 law firm, was involved in protracted litigation on a matter in multiple jurisdictions.

At one point, the client needed to reuse litigation data from one portion of the case, while also processing a substantial new body of documents.

The firm's local office had previously relied on their own, in-house litigation package to handle smaller matters, instead of the firm's large-scale litigation system.

This team was trained and familiar with their local solution and had establish protocols for handling e-discovery case data

Unfortunately, the local solution only permitted the firm to store allow an estimated 500,000 pages per database, and the forecast for the pending case was in the 5-7 million page range.

Control Discovery worked with IT staff at the law firm, as well as outside litigation systems vendors Summation and Zantaz, to identify potential solutions for the team.

Together, the team identified and implemented a size-appropriate solution over a six-week period.

After the final decision on the review system, the firm located additional documents in Summation export format from a related branch of litigation.

Control Discovery converted the summation exports to the client's target review system and processed all additional documents for a TIFF-based review.

By project's end, CDI had processed, endorsed, and exported a total of 8 million pages.
